Q. I have a new plant, what do I do next?
Contact Tracy Catt at Liss Forest Nurseries and she will advise you. Give an appraisal of your plant and if possible supply a description and photographs. Q. What is Plantnet UK?
Plantnet UK is made up of a group of successful nurserymen who joined together in 1995 with the purpose of forming a network to find, grow and sell new plants on a national and international basis.
Q. What is the aim of the Network?
To be the first port of call in the UK for any finder or breeder of a new plant discovery from anywhere in the world.
To market plants for the finder or breeder via our existing national outlets, extending this throughout Europe and to the global market where appropriate.
Q How will the breeder/finder be protected?
Plantnet UK will, where appropriate, advise you how to protect your plant using Plant Variety Rights or Trade Marks.
We will negotiate from the outset the best royalty return for your plant and develop a worthwhile agreement to benefit all parties concerned.
We are also prepared to market unprotected plants for a period of time, honoring royalty payments to breeders of special plants who have not sought Plant Variety Rights.
Q. How will the plants be sold?
As established nurserymen we have all developed well co-ordinated networks of grower/distributors nation-wide.
Plants will be given the best possible promotion using Brand Names, and well designed, informative colourful Point of Sale material.
We will maximise publicity for the plants using national, trade and consumer press, and in-house publications.
Q. How do we select Plants?
Plantnet UK will conduct extensive trials to evaluate the garden worth and market potential of your find.
